On 17th May to 19th May, Eveline, Wan Ling and I attended the Singapore poly chinese music cultural club freshmen orientation camp that was held in SP. It was a 3 days 2 nights camp. On the 1st day, we assembled outside foodcourt 3 at 7.30pm on 17th May. We were kind of sad as we were not in the same group as one another. We went to our respective group being allocated and our first activity began (Ice Breaking). After that, we were supposed to come up with a group name, design our group's flag and come up with some group cheers. Our group name was 专属恶魔! Really like the name. We went to watch a scary movie at around 10,11 plus and i was getting really sleepy. After the scary movie, we were told that the movie was only the beginning and that the worst has yet to come. I felt really terrified when they announced that we had night walk around the school and at that time it was around 12?! Our group was further split into 3 smaller groups consisting of 5 people (including a leader). Night walk around SP at night is the most freaking thing i had ever done. The place was dark and there were several stations that we had to undergo. The first station was the toilets. We had to go in pairs and do whatever they tell us to do. Even before we stepped into the toilet, we could hear screams and banging of the doors and at that moment, my heart was beating like there's no tomorrow. Thank god my partner Nicholas was a brave guy and he did the task that the "ghost" asked us to do (Find the missing tongue and give it to a "ghost" which was hanging on the top). The second and probably the most scariest was to walk through a dark pathway where it was absolutely pitch dark. The "ghosts" came in all directions (left, right and front but thank god they didn't come from the back) and more tasks were being given to us (lighting the candles). It was around 2,3 am when our group's night walk ended and by the time the rest of the groups were done with theirs, it was 5am. We slept at 5.30am and woke up at around 9.30am.
On the 2nd day, we had telematch and treasure hunting. Both the activities were fun but the treasure hunting wasn't a fair match as all groups started at different timing. Our group didn't manage to finish all the 10 stations for the treasure hunting as our clues given were tough and some were rather misleading. At 9.30pm, we had a mini-concert where all groups were required to perform an item. Our group performed "Lao Shu Ai Da Mi" 2 times (One is the actual version while the other is the funny version) It was fun as we got to see the existing CMCC members performing and other groups' performances as well. Concert ended around 12 plus and i did not stay up for the disco night because i was simply too tired to even shake my butt.
We woke up around 10 plus on the last day and before our dismissal, we played a game where one of the members from CMCC was to sing a song where they had changed the lyrics of the song. The objective of the game was to say/sing out the actual lyrics of the songs. I had quite a hard time identifying the mistakes as i do not really listen to Chinese songs as compared to Japanese songs. The game lasted for about an hour or so and it was time to break camp. Our group came in 2nd for the concert and we were really pleased with the outcome because our performance was really done last minute. Overall, our group came in 4th place. I made quite a few friends there and hopefully we will get a chance to see each other at campus. =)
