Dramas to watch this fall

(1) My Girl [9th Oct 2009]
Starring Aiba Masaki (Kazama Masamune), Yuka (Tsukamoto Yoko)
This will be Aiba's first lead drama. He will be acting as a 23-year-old man named, Kazama Masamune. During high school, he had a girlfriend named Tsukamoto Yoko who is four years older than him, but she suddenly leaves to go abroad. Six years later, he receives news that she has passed away. In addition, she secretly gave birth to Masamune's daughter. Now the five-year-old daughter, Koharu, is returning home to Japan, and Masamune must raise her.

(2) Liar Game 2 [Nov 2009]
Starring Toda Erika (Kanzaki Nao), Matsuda Shota (Akiyama Shinichi), Suzuki Kosuke (Fukunaga Yuji)
The sequel will continue from the first season. In the drama, the players will face off in four games and a semifinal round, while the final game will take place in the movie, titled "LIAR GAME: The Final Stage.

(3) Tokyo DOGS [19th October 2009]
Starring Oguri Shun (Takakura So), Mizushima Hiro (Kudo Maruo)
Takakura So witnessed his father's murder at a young age. Pledging to catch the killer, he grows up to become an elite cop in New York City, where the criminal lives. His character is cool-headed and disciplined, yet adapts well. Because of major drug dealings, he gets sent to Tokyo to conduct a joint investigation with the Japanese police. There, he gets teamed up with, Kudo Maruo, a detective from a special investigative division. Kudo is a hot-blooded fighting expert due to his earlier days as a delinquent, but he makes a strong impression with his stylish appearance and is always interested in going on group dates. His personality, interests, and investigation methods are completely mismatched with Takakura's, but the two somehow work together to crack the case they've been given.

(4) Untouchable [Oct 2009]
Starring Nakama Yukie (Narumi Ryoko), Kaname Jun (Toyama Shiro)
Narumi Ryoko is a reporter who gets dismissed from a top-notch magazine and winds up at a third-rate weekly. Clumsy yet persistent, she notices details that other reporters overlook, leading her to the "untouchable" sides of criminal cases and, ultimately, to the truth.

(5) Ohitorisama [16 Oct 2009]
Starring Mizuki Alisa (Akiyama Satomi), Koike Teppei (Kamisaka Shinichi)
Akiyama Satomi is a teacher at a prestigious girls' school, who excels in her work but lacks in cooking and housekeeping. She falls in love with a colleague 10 years younger than her, and they begin living together. Each episode highlights the differences in their age, status, mindset, and values.

(6) Shokojo Seira [17 Oct 2009]
Starring Shida Mirai (Kuroda Seira)
Kuroda Seira is a high school student whose father is extremely wealthy. After her father dies and his business collapses, leaving her penniless, the school's director and Seira's previously jealous classmates take the opportunity to make her life miserable. But despite their bullying, Seira endures it with a positive attitude.

(7) Samurai Seventeen [17 Oct 2009]
Starring Miura Haruma (Mochizuki Kotaro), Shorota Yu (Nakamura Tsuyoshi)
Mochizuki Kotaro is a private high school student who is normally a mild-mannered, unmasculine guy. But after coming across a mysterious ancient document, he finds that whenever he gets into a difficult situation, he becomes imbued with the heroic samurai spirit of his ancestors.

(8) Dareka ga Uso wo Tsuiteiru [6 Oct 2009]
Starring Tegoshi Yuya (Sato Takahiro), Tanimura Mitsuki (Sato Yuka)
Sato Toshiaki is a salaryman falsely accused of groping on a train. One of the key themes is the resulting impact on him and his family.
