Went for the Citibank FX Challenge held at Millinium Walk.. I was paired up with Zhi Min for this event.. Before the actual competition (31st October), there was a briefing for all participants at the SP Auditorium which lasted a good 2 hours. Having little knowledge of trading stocks, Zhi Min and I entered the competition with the thought of not winning. Our session was at 1.30pm (all the SP students were slotted this timing) and the competition lasted for 30 minutes. It was tough understanding how the system works and we practically kept losing money all the way. Random news were popping out every 3-4 minutes or so but we were so engaged in trying not to lose money that we didn't bother looking at the news. In the end, we lost like $1 million LOL and thought that we were going to be deemed the "biggest loser" but it turned out that there was a group that lost $2.5 million. All the banking students were eliminated during the first session while some of the financial trading students went on the final round. I went back home and collapsed on my wonderful bed...
