On 13th July which was a Sunday, i worked with Mel at the Singapore Expo (Walls Ice Cream Seller haha).. Before that day, i had to rush my parts for the BFI project and relied on the rest of my group members to do those parts that were not done. Glad that they managed to get it done =)... Both of us had to report for work at 9am.. (Boss's orders).. Apparently Walls was selling and giving away ice cream during the Carshow organised by CATS (Strait Times Newspaper)...
We were in charge of selling ice creams while the CATS people in charge were giving away the free ice creams (In order to get the free ice cream, a copy of the Sunday Times or Saturday's newspaper is needed... customers will then have to cut out the coupons that were attached in the classified advertisement) As such, most people came to us trying to claim free ice creams.. Mel and I had to practically point to them the spot to redeem their free ice cream for at least 30 times... While working, I had a chance to talk to her and asked her about her current life... We haven't seen each other since a good 5-6 month so there was alot of catching up to do with each other... We also ended up eating the ice creams too hehe... I stood practically for around 9 hours and we left the place at around 7.30pm. I was paid $6 per hour =D..... Had fun working!!

Last Sunday was my last day as a cashier in Robinsons Centre point... It was a rough road but i managed to finish my job assignment and that meant quite a lot to me. During the card member sales period (wednesday and thursday), i remembered wanting to give up and crying during the night because it was tough and i had plenty of scoldings from the customers and a certain fellow senior cashier. But with the encouragement from my friends and my parents, i decided not to give up and complete the job. True enough, I managed to find joy in working as a cashier as i enjoyed serving customers as i walked around the place. (I do that if there is no customers at the cashier counter) I also made lots of friends around there (Vivian, Rebecca, Shi Min, Chris, Linda, Winnie, Josephine, Ruby, Raquel, Kim Teck, Wei Zhen, Veon etc) and got to know more about the products sold at Robinsons. The last day was sad as I had to part with my friends and seniors who made my job fun and enjoyable. There was a person especially that took care of me throughout the whole job assignment and that person's name is Josephine. She was like a mother figure to me during my cashier days and helped me during times of doubts and troubles. I wished to thank her from my bottom of my heart... Hopefully i will have another chance to work again with a group of wonderful people and next time, i will stick to a promoter job because being a cashier is no easy feet as it requires accuracy and quick thinking....

Cashiering on the 5th day was per normal with customers awaiting for the sale on wednesday. I reported to work at 2pm yesterday and i was simply amazed by how Singaporeans buy stuff. There was a long queue and many people buy in bulk since it is "cheaper". I was running around packing and doing the delivery process. It was madness as the queue forever stay as long and never seemed to end. My job as cashier was not as easy as I thought in my mind and at the end of the day (around 10.30 plus), I was feeling the after effects of my cold that I caught in the morning. My nose was runny and I started to sneeze non-stop. My parents had to fetch me as I finally exited the building at around 11.30pm. Today will be another hectic and crazy day for me. May God bless me with the strength to carry on this job!

3rd Day of Cashiering 29.02.08
- had to report to Robinsons at 6.15pm
- work till 10.15pm to learn how to close the machines and account for the money.
- had to close 3 machines: NETS, ICE AUTO (credit card) and the main cashier machine
- so "ma fan" but at least got a nice person named Josephine who taught me how to do it
- reached home at around 11.20pm plus.

4th Day of Cashiering 1.03.08
- Wheeee... finally March liao
- Report to work at 2.15pm and ended at 10.15pm
- at least now i got kinda used to doing cashiering
- my break was from 4pm - 5pm
- learnt how to do refund and other modes of payment
- met 2 promoters named Vivian and Wei Qiang
- there wasn't much customers around 8plus
- reached home at 11.15pm in time to work the Man U game XDXD....

1st Day as Cashier:
- Report to Centre Point at 10am
- Had to wear the black polo shirt provided along with black working pants and black covered shoes.
- Was given a punch card, staff card and a name tag
- I was allocated in the 5th level: Kitchen and Cookware
- I was damn nervous cos' it was my first time.
- Had to learn how to operate the cashier machines, nets machines and credit card machines. Must also learn how to scan the price tags properly.
- There were around 8 customers that i served, of which one of them i gave the wrong change (EEK!! I was BLUR & nervous)
- Meet my fellow supervisors and managers
- At the end of the day, i was down because i made alot of mistakes.... eeepp...
- Finished first day of training at 2pm.

2nd Day
- Report to work at 9am
- The duty manager brief us about how to use the machines, the discounts etc
- Wasn't so bad as yesterday, no screw ups as compared to yesterday
- Things went smoothly...
- Ended my day at 1pm.

Today was my first day working part time for any job. I got a job selling ice creams (Walls) at the Singapore Air Show ($6.50 per hour, 9am to 6pm).. I met Mel at Swissotel at 7.45am to take a shuttle bus which cost $5 per person to the Changi Exhibition Hall. We arrived there at around 8.30am and took a walk around the convention centres. I managed to take some photographs of the exhibition (Below). We set up the stall at around 9am and there weren't any person buying ice cream till about 11 plus. Today was actually the last day of the trade days. I met the two supplier uncles and i had to mend the push cart stall alone where i could view the Air show which took place around 12.15am. It was fantastic and there were many people who were amazed by the speed and formation of the "Black Knights". I also managed to see the A380 as well! And surprising it was not as big as i pictured it. At around 1 plus, i went back to the main stall and work alongside with Mel. Business was good and Mel decided to set up another push cart stall near the enterance while i handled the business at the main stall. Magnum ice cream was probably the favourite amongst the adults and the chocolate drumsticks were sold easily. We stopped work at around 5pm and both Mel and I were tired. We stood from 9am to 5pm without taking even a toilet break and not even have a chance to rest. I even had to eat my lunch while serving the customers (well i only ate half of my chicken rice which the uncle bought for both of us). I realised that selling ice creams is not as easy as i thought it would be. It proved to be challenging (you have to calculate the money and give the right change) and tiring(standing the whole day) at the same time.
